Anyway, enjoy the new website!
Welcome to version 2.0 of the Nate Spidgewood Productions website! I've decided to move away from Freewebs since my website on there is way too complicated to edit on HTML. Now everything is much better here on Weebly.
Anyway, enjoy the new website!

Hey everyone! I'm sorry for not touching this blog in a long time, but apparently I'm bored. Today, I've uploaded a story (a screenplay-like thing) that I've written for five months called Derek the Rock Star. It's about a teenage rock star named Derek Finn whose job was ruined by a group of FBI agents that hate rock music, so he teams up with his bandmates to defeat the agents and take the genre back.
I've been kicking around with this project for three years because I had this strange dream about a rock star fighting a baby-esque guy for ruining his concert. So it took two months after that to develop the story, and then a year later it took five months to write the final story. So today, Derek the Rock Star is finally published online! If you haven't read it, please go to the Downloads page on this website and download the story along with some artwork for it (and there, it replaced the old screenplay for The Life of Nate Spidgewood, which I recently decided to turn into a web series). Or go to my recently made account on Writing.com and read it! The story is just exciting for me, and it's one of my personal favorites. Okay, in case you never know, I tried using a useful 3D program called 3ds Max. Sure, it's quite good. I built some 3D puppets out of Arry the Armadillo (from Tara and John) and Nate on 3ds Max and tried to test them out using biped.
Also, since you fear CGI, I'm not moving entirely to 3D animation; I just needed to get my animating hobby much better: First, I'll animate the puppets using biped in 3ds Max, and then I'll just render them into multiple frame-by-frame images, in either JPG or BMP formats. After the rendering is done, I'll import the rendered frames in Toon Boom and rotoscope/trace the puppets' movements using my tablet. Amazing, huh? Here are my 3D tests: Arry: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCmHs-67Fps http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJURiDc_LAY Nate: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j99fm1vSs5Y http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zK_rOclS8Q Okay, I haven't touched this blog in awhile, but I have to make a new message board. I have to leave Lefora and move to ProBoards because Lefora is quite outdated and really unknown.
Anyway, please join my new forum! I have a Facebook account, and yes, I put a page up last week, but I put a lot of effort when uploading photos and videos.
The page is about my production company (which was located in my room). So if you're on Facebook and you like my work, please click on the link below and become a fan! http://www.facebook.com/pages/Nate-Spidgewood-Productions/119270674758550 (NOTE: If you've never had an account on Facebook before, you can create one there and fan the page. That means my school friends.) As some of you may know, five days ago, I went on to release the first three pages of the first entry of my new series of comics called "The Little Wolf and the Bad Little Girl," or "TLWATBLG" for short, about a really spoiled girl named Jane Roberts and her chief rival: her annoying adopted baby wolf. It's like a modern version of "Little Red Riding Hood," except it involves a mean version of Little Red and a really irritating young version of the Big Bad Wolf.
I first created this series in autumn 2006 as one of a few fake "webcomics" of mine, even though it has bad childish drawings because I don't know how to properly hold a pencil back then. I revived this series in December 2008 and tried planning it in various incarnations until I was able to make it a comic book series. I started drawing in February 2010. TLWATBLG was the first comic I could ever draw digitally. Using my drawing tablet, though. I have other pages currently planned out. Here are the pages for you to enjoy: http://nate-spidgewood.deviantart.com/art/TLWATBLG-episode-1-page-1-160271054 http://nate-spidgewood.deviantart.com/art/TLWATBLG-episode-1-page-2-160293411 http://nate-spidgewood.deviantart.com/art/TLWATBLG-episode-1-page-3-160315564 Also, I launched a TLWATBLG website in February, but I haven't put up any pages. Here's the address: tlwatblg.webs.com So enjoy these comics. Okay, so I haven't touched my blogs for a month anyway, forgot to announce something new. Sorry.
First of all, I've made a new walk cycle earlier this month, which is much better than the old one. I also planned some new animated projects: one was about John the cobra bugging Goldie's nap in the morning (which was currently in the works, but took so long to animate), and the other was about me and my friend Dyllan playing a "game" consisting of bottles, water and soda. The new WIP page is up at my website: www.natespidgewood.webs.com/wip.html. Personally, I don't like my alternative account on YouTube. It's all about copyright videos which people love to death. That's right, everyone loves these videos more than my work. I don't believe I was forced to make a secondary account when I was being bullied online last year in the first place. People just need to stop subscribing and adding this account. I'm not much of a logo person. I don't want to be involved in comment wars again, so I won't kill my work off again. Plus, I finally got high speed internet last week. Now I was able to upload/download big files and load up videos and pages quickly. Apparently, I've had enough with dial-up, so that's why my dad installed cable internet. I used to have NetZero, but it frequently disconnects and always doesn't allow me to load pages up, which I dislike the most. Thankfully, I got high speed internet last week and it's so much better than dial-up. And there you have it. That's all you read. Haven't announced anything new for almost a month. That's it. Sorry for not talking about it for awhile, but I'm indeed busy.
I finally released a new animation test on YouTube. This is just me practicing at animating using a drawing tablet, which I got on Christmas 2009. This time, I was practicing on Toon Boom. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuJRNAL3-88 http://www.natespidgewood.webs.com/videos/newtests2.html You can donate money if you'd like. My fans and friends can.
I'm an independent artist, funding my work myself. If you'd like to donate money, go to this page! First off, I won't even become a Hollywood filmmaker.
I originally wanted to produce my possible animated project, "The Life of Nate Spidgewood," through a major studio like 20th Century Fox, but I didn't want to because I'm much of an independent artist, and that I'm afraid Hollywood would reject the script after I sent it. This movie would annoy so many people if it was executed and released through Hollywood, causing to make itself a flop at the box office. I only make amateur videos and cartoons, so I'll just change the movie into an independent film that would either be released exclusively on DVD, or released on the Web and later on DVD. It would contain higher-quality 2D animation and CGI visual effects, despite being an indie cartoon movie. Second, I got a drawing tablet for Christmas 09, so I was able to draw very easy on Photoshop or any other art program these days. I also got a microphone for Christmas because my other one was broken, but it's not installed yet. Last week, I planned to draw the possible comic book series using my tablet, entitled "The Little Wolf and the Bad Little Girl." It's about a very spoiled girl named Jane Roberts, and a very annoying wolf pup who competes against her. It's sort of a modern version of "Little Red Riding Hood," except it involves a rude version of Red and an annoying child version of the Big Bad Wolf, heh. |
